High precision casting encompasses several methods, the most common of which are lost-wax casting and investment casting. In lost-wax casting, a pattern made from wax is coated with a ceramic material to create a mold. Once the mold setting is complete, the wax is melted away, leaving an empty cavity. Molten metal is then poured into this cavity and allowed to solidify, resulting in a precise metal replica of the original wax component.
