What is Green Sand Casting?

The aerosol valve industry is witnessing significant advancements driven by technological innovation and growing environmental awareness. For instance, manufacturers are increasingly focusing on creating eco-friendly aerosol valves that use biodegradable materials and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Investment casting is a process that begins with a wax pattern, which is a replica of the final product. This wax pattern is coated with a refractory ceramic material to create a mold. After the coating hardens, the mold is heated to melt and remove the wax pattern, leaving a hollow ceramic shell. Molten metal is then poured into this shell, where it solidifies and takes the shape of the original wax pattern. Once the metal has cooled, the ceramic shell is broken away to reveal the finished component.

5. Pouring the Metal With the mold ready, molten metal is poured into the cavity. Due to the smooth surface of the plaster, the final cast is obtained with much finer details compared to traditional sand casting.
